Extracts a subset of text based on a matching character or offset.

How to manipulate your data with Text Extract

Use this to pull out a piece of a "cell" based off of where it is in the cell, or which characters preceed it or come after it. This can be useful for pulling out company names from emails, removing part of an ID, or extracting the timezone from a date/time stamp.

You can mix and match any Opertaion with any Matching Text or Offset to targe the correct piece of text.

Matching Text or Offset

First instance of matching text

Uses the first instance of a specified bit of text as the delimiter

Last isntance of matching text

Uses the last instance of a specified bit of text as the delimiter

Offset from beginning of text

Uses a number of characters starting from the beginning of your text to determine the delimiter

Offset from end of text

Uses a number of characters starting from the end of your text and going to the left to determine the delimiter
