“Paused” can mean a couple of different things depending on what’s actually affected — your whole account, or just a single flow’s schedule. Here are the most common causes:

Payment past due

If an invoice hasn’t been paid, admins will see a banner directing them to the Billing page. Fix: update your payment method or pay the outstanding invoice from the Billing page — see Billing and pricing.

Credit exhaustion (Basic plan)

On the Basic (free) plan, once you hit your 1,000 credit/month limit, Parabola stops running until your billing period resets. Fix: wait for your billing period to reset, or upgrade to a paid plan for a higher allotment and pay-per-credit overage — see What happens if I run out of credits? On paid plans, running out of included credits switches you to pay-per-credit billing instead of pausing your account.

A specific flow’s schedule auto-paused

This is a flow-level pause, not an account-level one — it can look like your account stopped working when really it’s one flow. By default, a scheduled flow automatically pauses its schedule after 10 consecutive run failures, to stop repeated failures from continuing unnoticed. This also happens if a downstream step (like sending email) starts failing even when the flow run itself reports success. Fix: open the flow’s schedule settings and manually unpause it, ideally after confirming and resolving what caused the failures. If you’d rather the flow keep retrying indefinitely instead of auto-pausing, you can turn off “Pause scheduled flow after 10 consecutive failures” in flow settings — see Managing your flow failure settings.

None of these match what you’re seeing

If your account is paused for a reason not listed here, contact help@parabola.io with your account email and a screenshot of what you’re seeing — some pauses (policy or security holds) require a human to look at the account directly.
