Collaboration is not the same as operation
Sheets solved sharing, and that is genuinely valuable — several people can look at the same numbers without emailing versions around. What it did not solve is running a process.
A sheet still has to be opened by someone. It still needs its inputs pasted or imported by hand when a partner sends a file. As the ranges grow, formulas slow down. And because anyone can edit any cell, the provenance of a figure erodes over time — a manual correction here, a hardcoded value there, and eventually nobody is sure which numbers are calculated and which were typed.
Which one is right for the job
Use Google Sheets for collaborative, ad hoc, short-lived work.
Move to Parabola when the sheet runs on a schedule, feeds a decision, or has quietly become something the team depends on being correct.
