Converting columns into rows

Convert rows with columns into multiple row entries, stacking all of the values into a single column.

Converting columns into rows

When you have a table of summarized data across multiple columns you may want to convert it back to individual line items (e.g. one row per data-point). Also, sometimes you want to take multiple columns of data, and line them up as a single column, with an additional column that shows which column the data point originally came from. This is especially useful when try to apply an operation to multiple columns at once.

Use an “Unpivot” object to select columns and rotate them back into rows. The column headers will be placed into one column, and the values will be placed in an adjacent column
