Find the Min or Max of a data set to quickly summarize large reports.
Finding the min or max in a range is a useful operation when determining how to understand and further transform data. In Excel, you can use their built in Min or Max functions. In Parabola, you can use this recipe to look for the distribution across quarters of top performance by sales rep. We use the Find min/max per row step to find which quarter per sales rep was their personal best. Then, using the Look up rows step, we can tie that Max number to a Quarter label. From there, the Group by step will aggregate the data into a distribution across all present Quarter labels.
