DTC Essential: Shopify Inventory Forecast (Months to Depletion)

Being out of stock when your customers are ready to order products is one of the easiest ways to leave money on the table in ecommerce. That said, staying on top of inventory forecasts can be quite difficult when new SKUs are being added and sales volumes are constantly changing – not to mention all the manual downloads and vlookups.

This flow provides you with an estimated number of months until a SKU will be depleted based on an expected growth rate (that you can customize), and also tells you expected unit sales over each of the next 12 months based on the last 30 days of SKU sales.

To successfully configure this report:

  5. Click the "Run now" button in the top right
  6. In the "Live" view of the flow, in the "Scheduled and Triggers" section, set this flow to run once per day for real-time forecasts
  7. Done!

Disclaimer: This flow is meant to serve as a great foundation, though is not meant to be a 100% out-of-the-box solution. You may have different data sources that you'd like to connect, or more custom ways of calculating months to depletion. We're here to help with this customization!
